What a busy month we had in April!

On Saturday April 7th we had our first ever North Yeast Brewfest. What a fun way to support local Crossroads business. We ended up with a full sell out of 150 tickets and all 5 breweries enjoyed success. The best part of the event was to see residents and new members meeting each other and joining us to help us all have a more inclusive and active community. I think it’s safe to say we will continue with more North Yeast Brewfest’s in the future.

In other news, the movie night in April gained attendance and excitement. Our Pub nights have not been overly successful, so join Frank on the last Friday of the month if you would like to see these continue! Join us in the hall every Wednesday for Drum Fun. May 11th is family movie night at 7pm at the hall. Join us with your blanket and enjoy some popcorn and a wonderful family movie. May 25th is pub night.

Our Parent Volunteers and Ms Jen are working hard to make our preschool in East Calgary one of the best in Calgary! Registration is open if you have or know of a little one that is ready to learn!

Our entertainment committee has some great things coming for families and seniors in the coming months. Join our 50 plus club or come out and join our entertainment committee and help them at the events and be a part of what looks to be some incredible opportunities for our members.

Join Historian Jerry Rourke on his annual Janes walks! Details later on and at the following URL: https://www. May 5th starting at the hall and May 6th at Denny’s parking lot. That’s all for this month Crossroads. Be well, stay safe and say hi to your neighbours.

It pays to be a member, join us. “Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.”
